What Are Warts
- An invading soft tissue lesion caused by the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) that most commonly appears on the sole of the foot
- Presents as a well defined elevated lesion with embedded black dots and a cauliflower like appearance
- Children and teens are most commonly infected
Causes
- Cuts, cracks or breaks in skin
- Walking barefoot on dirty surfaces
Symptoms
- Noticeable burning or sharp pain
- Inability to wear shoes due to pain and tenderness when walking
- Bleeding if irritated
